This Junmai sake is labelled as a karakuchi or dry style of sake. Deceptively it leads in with fruit forward nashi pear flavours that open to an umami dominant medium-dry finish. The overall impression is a lean, refreshingly clean Junmai sake with pleasant acidity on the finish and gentle aromatics of pear skin, melon, and brine.
It’s a delicious drop chilled and served alongside oysters, grilled foods, yakatori, pizza and salty chips. Great flexibility with food due to the seamless integration of all the flavour components.
